A seed-grown selfing of the highly sought-after Tezula Red Crystal, a collector Anthurium prized for its spectacular emergent coloration and dark velvet foliage.

Tezula Red Crystal is particularly known for new leaves that can emerge in rich shades of red, burgundy and deep purple before gradually hardening to dark green. Strong contrasting venation and beautifully proportioned, cordate velvet leaves make mature specimens especially striking.

These seedlings were produced by self-pollination of my Tezula Red Crystal. A selfed seedling is not a clone of its parent: sexual reproduction reshuffles the parent's genetics, so each seedling represents a unique phenotype. Individual plants may therefore vary in emergent color, mature darkness, venation, leaf shape and overall form.

For collectors, that variation is part of the appeal. Each seedling offers the opportunity to grow out an individual expression of an established and highly desirable Red Crystal lineage.
