Anthurium antolakii ‘BVEP’ × papillilaminum ‘Fort Sherman’

A collector Anthurium produced here at MonsteraEtc from two exceptional Panamanian bloodlines: Anthurium antolakii, historically known in cultivation as BVEP (Black Velvet Eastern Panama), crossed with Anthurium papillilaminum ‘Fort Sherman.’

This plant was produced from mother plants in my own collection. My BVEP/antolakii parent was originally acquired from Tezula Plants, while my papillilaminum ‘Fort Sherman’ parent was acquired from Good Plant Nice Pot and traces directly to Jay Vannini. Both parent plants are maintained in the MonsteraEtc collection, providing documented provenance for this cross.

This juvenile is already developing attractive velvety foliage with an elongated cordate form. As it matures, its phenotype will continue to develop, with the potential for darker velvet foliage and increasingly prominent characteristics inherited from both parents.

As a seed-grown hybrid, each plant is genetically unique; mature leaf shape, coloration, venation, and texture may vary between individual seedlings.
