Anthurium (Pink Lemonade × Black Widow Michelle) Self

This is a particularly promising holdback seedling from one of my own mother plants, a Tezula/SKG Pink Lemonade × Black Widow Michelle. The mother plant remains in the MonsteraEtc collection and is an exceptionally large, striking velvet Anthurium with broad, dark foliage and dramatic contrasting venation.

This seedling is the result of self-pollination of that mother plant, rather than an additional outcross. Because selfed seedlings represent a new genetic recombination of the parent's ancestry, they are not clones of the mother plant and each can develop its own phenotype.

I originally held this individual back because it was showing particularly good potential, and it continues to do so. Even at this stage, the foliage is developing excellent form, strong venation and substantial size, suggesting the potential to mature into a large and impressive specimen like its mother.

The fourth photograph shows my mother plant for reference. It is included to demonstrate the mature phenotype and genetic background of this seedling; the plant being offered is the individual shown in the primary photographs.

An excellent opportunity for the collector interested in selected seed-grown Anthuriums with known parentage rather than anonymous commercial hybrids.
