Philodendron 'Red Congo' + Bonus Philodendron 'Birkin' — 4″ Pot

Philodendron 'Red Congo' is a vigorous, self-heading hybrid with thick, glossy, deep-green leaves carried on striking reddish stems. Unlike vining philodendrons, it grows upright in a spreading rosette, maturing into a bold architectural specimen. New leaves often emerge with a reddish flush before hardening to a rich green. (Also sold in the trade as 'Rojo Congo.')
This 4-inch pot includes a bonus plant: a Philodendron 'Birkin' growing at its base. 'Birkin' is a sport — a natural mutation — of the Rojo Congo lineage, selected for dark green leaves dramatically pinstriped in creamy white, each leaf emerging with its own unique pattern. Two plants from the same Congo family, one pot.
You will receive the exact plants pictured, in a 4" nursery pot.
Specialist care (sourced). Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia: bright indirect light — direct sun scorches leaves, while variegated types like 'Birkin' need brighter light than all-green types to hold their pattern; water when the top inch or two of soil feels dry; avoid overwatering. Montana State University Extension rates Philodendron spp. “bright but sunless, evenly moist, easy.”
