Anthurium papillilaminum "Black Raven" × forgetii Dark Form — Velvet Hybrid (Exact Plant)

Anthurium papillilaminum ‘Black Raven’ × forgetii Dark Form

A striking velvet Anthurium hybrid combining the dark foliage of A. papillilaminum ‘Black Raven’ with A. forgetii Dark Form. This specimen is developing long, elegant leaves with a rich velvety surface, deep green coloration, subtle venation, and a beautifully narrow sinus.

An excellent choice for collectors who favor dark, sophisticated foliage and elongated leaf forms over heavily contrasting veins.

Specialist care (sourced). Papillilaminum side (Soiled; GrowTropicals): medium-to-bright indirect light, never direct sun; 21–32°C and cold-sensitive below 16°C; 60–80% humidity; consistently moist in a very chunky mix (bark, perlite, charcoal, sphagnum); distilled/RO/rainwater preferred — tap-water salts cause brown spotting. Forgetii side (Foliage Factory): 18–27°C, avoid below 15°C; 60–80% humidity; let ~20–30% of the mix dry between waterings. Habitat-derived (INFERRED): A. papillilaminum is a true Panamanian lowland species (Colón/Darién, below ~100 m, forest floor) — the warmth-demanding parent — while A. forgetii comes from Colombian montane rainforest (~900–1,300 m). Give this cross the papillilaminum’s warmth and humidity first, with the forgetii’s slightly cooler tolerance as margin.
